Look forward to an evening in the company of one of the most incisive and influential writers of our time, when British Zadie Smith takes the stage in The Black Diamond. The event will be livestreamed at Taastrup Library Zadie Smith writes sharply and humorously about multicultural environments where identity is shaped by race, class and origin. She connects personal experiences to broad social criticism - from the British class system to how we have entrusted so many parts of our identity and behavior to social media and the powerful tech giants behind it. The occasion is that she receives the Hans Christian Andersen Literature Prize 2026, and is therefore on one of her rare visits to Denmark. Since her debut with White Teeth in 2000, Zadie Smith has left a significant mark on the international literary scene.
