Step to the table with Matthias Moth and experience an evening in the taste, learning and imagination of the 18th century. Rudersdal Museums invites you to a historical dinner in the atmospheric surroundings of Mothsgården - the country's oldest country house and former home of Matthias Moth. Moth was a civil servant, a medical doctor, a language collector, the author of a comprehensive dictionary, and a passionate garden writer. He lived in a time when food, medicine, natural science, and notions of magical powers were more closely intertwined than they are for us today. This evening we are going to dine in Moth's world. On the menu Three historically inspired dishes based on 18th-century cuisine Three period-inspired drinks, with or without alcohol as desired Tap water ad libitum The menu takes inspiration from the type of ingredients, flavors and dishes that could be found in a wealthy household around the year 1700 and from Matthias Moth's own interest in gardens, plants and medicine.
