Lecture from Psychiatric Center Glostrup. Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or AD(H)D affects, among other things, attention, impulsivity and hyperactivity. At the Glostrup Psychiatric Center, there is a large increase in referrals for evaluation. AD(H)D is discussed more often in the media, and more books are being published on the subject than ever before. This lecture will shed light on the diagnosis, where specialist psychologist Anja Nekes Søgaard Suhr and nurse Helena Krysfeldt Rasmussen talk about what attention is and what it means to have an attention disorder, including symptoms andtreatment, and how ADHD affects daily life. We also briefly touch on coping strategies and how to support people with ADHD.
