VVPA creates social communities around singing and music, and holds events with singing, music and socializing for the association's members and guests. The association's purpose is to spread knowledge of ballads and ballad singing - a narrative song genre that has conveyed local stories, culture and emotions through generations. In other words - it's about songs where the lyrics are meaningful and often have a story or express a mood. Furthermore, songs and music can be interpreted and performed in different ways. The association contributes on a voluntary basis to creating pleasant and atmospheric gatherings with singing and music, and helps people to meet for pleasant musical gatherings, where there is an opportunity to form social relationships and limitloneliness in people.
