Join us on a journey through the history of Hvide Sande! You will, among other things, have access to the lock, which is normally closed, but we will also visit other exciting places that have shaped Denmark's youngest city, Hvide Sande. The lock in Hvide Sande opened in 1931, and it was quickly discovered that it was no longer necessary to launch the lifeboat from the beach. Therefore, in 1933, the Hvide Sande Lifeboat Station was opened, which is still in operation today. Hear about how the nature of rescue operations has changed over time as the city has developed Today, bathers, recreational sailors and windsurfers make a pilgrimage to the area where the rescue station was previously used to help stranded merchant ships - the station's original raison d'être.
