Join us as Samsø Municipality pays tribute to the many volunteers who, with their commitment, help make Samsø a stronger and more vibrant place to live. Attend the award ceremony and congratulate this year's volunteer when we invite you inside for this year's Volunteer Award 2026. The Volunteer Award is awarded to a person, an association, an organization or a group that has made a special volunteer effort on Samsø during the year. The Volunteer Award embraces the entire volunteer community on Samsø - from sports and leisure life to culture, social initiatives and all the many other communities where volunteers make a difference every day. All citizens on Samsø can nominate candidates for the award. The nomination period runs from August 18 to September 10, and we encourage everyone to submit a nomination if they know a person or community that deserves an extra big pat on the back. During the selection process, individuals or initiatives that have made a special difference within the past year will be given positive weight.
