The geopolitical balance of power is rapidly changing, and the relationship between the United States, Europe and the Commonwealth is facing new challenges. In this lecture, Jesper Steinmetz provides a nuanced overview of a world in transition and the forces shaping the global agenda. With more than two decades of experience as a journalist and 14 years as a correspondent in the US, he is the Danish TV correspondent who has been stationed in the US for the longest time. He draws on experiences from both Washington DC and the American hinterland. He analyzes the field of tension between the great powers and places particular focus on Greenland, which has increasingly become a strategic focal point in international politics.
