Michael Kvium - Human Folly

We have invited Pernille Taagaard Dinesen, art director, at Glas - The Museum of Glass Art for a visit with a lecture about Michael Kvium and his art. Few Danish artists have left their mark on our inner retinas like Kvium in the last three or four decades. Anyone who has seen even a few of his paintings has been unable to avoid being moved - whether it be with disgust at the painting of the mother who appears to be strangling her daughter in front of the kitchen sink, or in a form of quiet self-awareness atconsidering the fitness runner who can barely drag his somewhat overweight body along. No, you are affected in some way or another. Not that bad, anyway! Kvium is inspired by, among other things, the Spanish master Goya (1746-1828), who will also be touched upon along the way. Tonight's lecturer, Pernille Taagaard Dinesen, was the curator of the Kvium exhibition "Fools" at ARo S back in 2014-15.
