The Christmas spirit floats into Tivoli Concert Hall when the heartwarming Christmas fairy tale The Nutcracker returns for Christmas 2026 The Christmas story of The Nutcracker is a true classic that exudes adventure and magic for young and old. Tivoli's classic family ballet takes place on Christmas Eve 1874 somewhere in Copenhagen. Clara's family has invited prominent guests to dinner and Clara receives a nutcracker as a Christmas present. After an eventful evening, Clara falls asleep and sets off on an adventurous and dangerous dream journey. Through storm and snow, she enters a snow-covered Tivoli, which magically transforms into a summer-warm fairy garden filled with dance and music, accompanied by Harlequin, Columbine, Pierrot and the Nutcracker, who has come to life.
