GAFFA (live review) With a big voice, a heartfelt sound and a knack for writing songs that connect deeply personal experiences with images of Nordic nature, the Finnish songwriter and singer has,Mirja Klippelhas emerged as a special talent on the alternative folk scene. Already her debut EP Lift Your Lion earned the Danish-based musician a Danish Music Award Folk as Songwriter of the Year. Since then, she has toured extensively in both Europe and the North Atlantic, and has released two more albums Her latest album, Slow Coming Alive, received three nominations at the Danish Music Awards Roots in 2021. With her regular co-musician Alex Jønsson, she draws the audience into an organic and atmospheric universe where personal experiences open up psychological depths, and where intimate spaces go hand in hand with raw and wild landscapes.
