Experience Elsebeth Dissing talking about the struggle of North Jutland women for equality - an evening with readings, local history and strong personal stories at Dorf Møllegård How was the path paved for the equality we know today? Elsebeth Dissing puts it into words in an engaging lecture based on the trilogy The Handmaid's Daughters, The Tobacco Girls and Freedom Flies. Through readings and personal stories, she takes the audience into the reality that inspired the books: her mother's life, the tobacco girls at CW Obel in Aalborg and her own 40 years as a journalist in North Jutland. It is the story of women who left their place in the kitchen and entered the factories. About strong communities, emerging rebellions and a demand for equality that grew over four decades and culminated in the women's movement of the 1970 s.
