Learn to identify sea vegetables, harvest them sustainably and responsibly, and use them in everyday cooking. Learn about the gastronomic and health properties of seaweed. Seaweed Expedition:Here, you'll learn how to harvest the ocean's climate-friendly and healthy vegetables in a responsible and sustainable way. You'll receive instructions, a recipe, and a portion to take home for lunch. Before we head out into the water, wearing waders, I’ll give a thorough introduction to the different species. This includes the importance of seaweed in the ecosystem, both above and below the sea surface. You’ll learn about the flavors, vitamins, and minerals it contains, how to prepare and store the seaweed, and how to use it in your daily life. We’ll also tell you about the cultivation of sugar kelp and seaweed in Isefjorden and our unique partnership with the net fishermen. While we’re in the water, I’ll guide you through the harvest—which you’ll take home—and we’ll also taste the fresh edible seaweed.
