Lecture about the ship models and their people Ship models are toys for children and adults, working tools for naval engineers and ship carpenters. They are bragging rights, crafts, and commemorative projects. Schooners, frigates and battleships fill hobby rooms, maritime museums and church ceilings, carefully outfitted by meticulous hands. From grave goods in ancient Egypt to sparkling success stories in today's shipping offices, they take us in their own charming way through millennia of alternative maritime history. At the lecture, Thorbjørn Thaarup, museum curator M/S Søfart, Helsingør, will talk about the great history of small ships. Tickets must be purchased in advance at msj.dk, as it is not possible to purchase at the door.
