The chamber choir Ama Cantus sings a repertoire of music composed for films There are both well-known tunes from the Bond film Skyfall and from The Lord of the Rings and larger works from lesser-known films such as Gabriel's oboe from The Mission and Conquest of Paradise from the film 1492. The chamber choir Ama Cantus, whose members mainly come from Amager, works with choral pieces from the Renaissance to the present day. Ama Cantus was founded in 1998, and the name relates to the Latin amare (to love) and cantus (song). Ama also refers to Amager. Ama Cantus is conducted by Alexander Noval, who is a trained pianist from the Royal Danish Academy of Music and a trained organist from the School of Church Music. The concert is part of Tårnby Music Week 2026, which runs from October 24th - November 1st.
