In October 2025, the Society arranged a tour of the grounds of Frydenlund Castle during the apple harvest. What we unfortunately had not taken into account was that the then ongoing restoration of the main building had not been completed - as promised - and that the entire building was therefore hidden by plastic covering. Now we are trying to repeat the walk around the beautiful building, which stands sparkling with newly restored facades in the beautiful surroundings. Niels Peter Stilling has once again taken on the role of tour guide. On the one-hour tour around the castle, you will be told about Frydenlund from its origins as a modest garden house around 1700 to Frederik IV's construction of a light castle, which only really became the "Cave of Light" when Queen Caroline Mathilde received the castle as her own.morning gift at her wedding with Chr. VII. in 1766.
