New research shows that seaweed can also contribute to solving future challenges in health, food, climate and the environment. Kelp forests that grow along the world's coasts are as important to marine ecosystems as forests are to life on land. People around the globe have been using seaweed as a resource since the beginning of time - for food, feed, fertilizer, gunpowder and materials In today's world, we face several major challenges - climate crisis, food crisis, biodiversity crisis and a new geopolitical agenda. Seaweed is often cited as a solution to save the world - but can it really be true? Seaweed is not actually plants - seaweed is algae. Come and find out what seaweed and algae really are.
