Based on community singing, Anne Odgård talks about the work of choosing songs for the latest 19th edition of the High School Songbook and the considerations that come with renewing the tradition. Along the way, both well-known and new songs are sung, and Anne also presents songs and hymns from her own repertoire. Anne Odgård is a composer, lyricist and singer, who with her artistic work makes significant contributions to the Danish community singing tradition. Melodies and lyrics move between hymns and songs with existential resonance Anne works as a composer with both her own and other people's texts, and has thus written music for authors such as Ole Sarvig, Iben Krogsdal, Inger Christensen, etc. In her work with music, genre distinctions have dissolved, leaving behind the simple, strongmelody, which is often suitable for singing together.
