Sorø Folkeuniversitet presents In this lecture, author and Ph D student Kristoffer Bayer examines the history of the Danish idea of folk-likeness. Folk-likeness is one of the concepts that both unites us - and divides us. The struggle to define what popular culture is has followed us throughout history and is still unfolding today. Popularity But where does the word come from? What has it meant for our history? And what does it mean for us today? Through a journey through the history of ideas from Grundtvig to the present, from popular movements to mackerel food, from Hal Koch to contemporary politics, we learn more about how popular culture has helped to bind us together as a nation.
