What does it mean to be a true gentleman or to be chivalrous? In this lecture, literary historian Valdemar Lenschow will guide us through the history of masculinity, focusing on the concepts of chivalry, chivalry and gentlemanliness. Where do the concepts originally come from, how are the knight and the gentleman figures related, and what can we actually use these concepts for in the 21st century?
