Fate knocks in Beethoven's iconic 5th Symphony, and star soloist Christian Gerhaher sings Schönberg in a new orchestral arrangement Three short notes and one long one. Ludwig van Beethoven was a shining example that music doesn't have to be complicated to hit the spot. In other words, Chief Conductor Marie Jacquot and the Royal Danish Orchestra have captured one of classical music's most legendary heirlooms and a cornerstone of European culture when the notes from Beethoven's 5th Symphony - the one that has become popularly known as The Symphony of Fate - soars towards the golden ceiling above the Opera's Main Stage.
