Introductory course to sand casting. Learn about the ancient casting tradition of sand casting, where an impression of an existing model is taken in sand and cast in silver. In the course we will go through the entire process, where you will learn how to make a slip mold in sand, melt new silver and cast a ring or pendant of your choice. Afterwards, you will be introduced to some of the tools you can use to transform your cast into a finished piece of jewelry and you will have the opportunity to work further with the item you have cast. Along the way, you will receive personal sparring and guidance for your specific project. After the course, you can gain access to the Jewelry Workshop and continue working with the casting techniques you have learned in this course.
