What to know

When a person develops dementia, it affects the entire family. In Denmark, around 100,000 people live with dementia, and many relatives experience great caregiving pressure, which can affect both their own well-being and quality of life. This evening is for those of you who are close to one of the many people living with dementia. You may be a relative of a person with dementia, perhaps you are a volunteer, or you work with people living with dementia and their relatives on a daily basis. The two local authors Susan Kaagh and Mona Bjørknæs have written the book "Close to dementia - knowledge and support for relatives"In the book, they provide professional and personal support to anyone who has dementia in their family and who, for this reason, must navigate an everyday life that is often characterized by change and uncertainty.
