Yet, over time, many people find that their gait becomes unstable or painful due to imbalance, injuries or other challenges. Perhaps we take good walking for granted? The ability to walk well is crucial for both functional level and quality of life. It is only when walking becomes difficult that we realize how important it is in everyday life - and how much the freedom and joy of simply being able to go for a walk means. For many, the thought of a cane or walker can also affect personal dignity. Who doesn't want to be able to walk well - all their lives?
