Join us on a cultural and historical journey through Rungsted - a small fishing village with great significance for Danish literature, art and architecture. Rungsted has attracted some of Denmark's greatest cultural figures over the centuries. In this lecture we delve into the stories of the old fishing village and the people who found inspiration here. You will meet, among others, Ludvig Holberg, Johannes Ewald and Karen Blixen, who all had a special connection to Rungsted. At Rungstedlund, Karen Blixen gathered contemporary poets such as Thorkild Bjørnvig and Ole Wivel. We take a closer look at Ewald's time at the inn and the stories about Ewald's Hill. The lecture also focuses on the architect Steen Eiler Rasmussen, who designed Rungsted's Municipal School, was responsible for the renovation of Rungstedlund and wrote fine essays.
