Quite a lot, many have answered in the many years when marriage has been considered the culmination of a love relationship. But it hasn't always been that way - and maybe it won't stay that way? Karen Vallgårda is a leading expert in the history of emotions and has researched how our perception of love and marriage has changed over time - and what happens when the dream is shattered. Together with Vallgårda, we take a tour de force through the history of marriage, from a society-supporting institution to an individual self-realization project.
