What happens in the brain when we knit? Handicrafts are experiencing a renaissance—not just as a hobby, but as a source of calm, creativity, and mental well-being. When our hands are busy, our minds settle, and many people experience a special kind of mindfulness and meaningful self-forgetfulness But what exactly happens in the brain and body when we work with our hands? Bring your own knitting when Anne Kirketerp, artisan, Ph. D., psychologist, and founder of "craft psychology," meets the renowned knitwear designer Mette Wendelboe Okkels, the woman behind Petite Knit, whose sleek and timeless designs have made her one of the most prominent voices in modern Nordic knitting culture. Look forward to an inspiring conversation about how crafts can improve mental health, build communities, and provide space for both creative expression and reflection in our busy daily lives. The discussion will be moderated by a journalist Bjørg Tulinius.
