The vagus nerve The vagus nerve is one of the body's most important nerves and connects the brain to the heart, lungs, and stomach, among other organs. But can stimulating this nerve also affect the brain? In this hands-on workshop, we'll start with a short popular science article about a brain researcher Anne Landaus Research on the vagus nerve. In collaboration with Dokk 1’s science communicator Matilda Tjellden We explore the research, ponder the results, and ask questions about what we don't yet know. Along the way, you can also help build a model of the vagus nerve and gain a better understanding of how the brain and body are connected. The workshop is for anyone who is curious about the brain, the body, and the research that is shaping the treatments of the future. There will also be a workshop on Friday, September 25, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. In addition, you can sketch on and around the model on Saturday and Sunday on your own. The event is part of Folkeuniversitetet's knowledge festival Hearts & Minds.
