About this event

What to know

Therapeutic training? We know that a run, a soccer match, or a trip to the gym can strengthen the body. But what happens to our mood, quality of life, and mental health when we are physically active? And how can physical training create empowerment, cohesion and new paths to recovery for people with mental vulnerability? Can fitness actually be therapeutic? Julie Midtgaard, clinical professor of psychiatry and senior researcher at the Glostrup Psychiatric Center and the University of Copenhagen, focuses on the connection between physical activity and mental health. Get insight into the research project Vega, which in collaboration with Arca Aarhushas investigated the value of Cross Fit training communities for mentally vulnerable young people. The event is part of Folkeuniversitetet's knowledge festival Hearts & Minds. Find the full program Here.
