The modern transgender revolution - with Mons Bissenbakker and Lasse Dyrholm Jensen. Transgenderism is not a new phenomenon in human history. Nevertheless, the representation of transgenderism has often been something that had to be kept hidden. But in recent years, we have seen more authors who have begun to put their trans experiences into words. And we would like to help celebrate and support this at Sydhavnens Library. So on October 27th, we will be visited by researcher, Mons Bissenbakker, and author, Lasse Dyrholm Jensen, who will each speak about trans literature from their own perspective. They will talk about how transgenderism is represented throughout literary history; why representation of transgender people in literature is important; about the fear and consequences of the censorship seen in the US of LGBT+ literature - and then there will bereading from Lasse Dyrholm Jensen's poetry collection, Supersoaker, which is about his transition. - Date: 27 October 2026 - Time: 19:00–20:30 - Venue: Sydhavnens Bibliotek - Address: Wagnersvej 19, Copenhagen SV, Denmark
