Are you full of imagination and curiosity? Join us for a morning where we will experience the world of the Vikings up close, through stories, runes and words. We will read runes and understand what the magical signs and spells mean. How did the Vikings write letters to each other without paper and pen? This morning we will dive into the written language of the Vikings: the runes! Together we will find out how runes were used - for everything from loving greetings, 'SMS's* and to memorials and magical spells. YOU will learn to write your own name with runes. We will also experience a story from the world of the Vikings. It is written on the runestone at Hobro Library. Who was Thore, who placed the stone after his friend Karl; the good boy? And what became of the missing runestone from Hobro? With words and imagination we recreate a story behind the stones in our very own interpretation. So join us on a journey back to the Viking Age - the time when stones could talk!
