Combining American folk tradition with timeless, nostalgic songwriting - cut to the bone and wrapped in the warm, analog sound of a bygone era Danish singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Simone Tang stepped into the spotlight as a solo artist with her debut album Things I Remember in 2024. With inspiration from artists such as Elizabeth Cotten, Nick Drake, Paul Simon and Édith Piaf, she draws on a strong songwriting tradition while forging her own path. She will soon follow up her debut album with her second album, which builds on the intimate expression of the first. Guitar and vocals are still at the center, the music is cut to the bone and recorded live on tape. At the same time, the soundscape gains new nuances from piano and clarinet, among others.
