Meet Randers Library in Havndal Health Center Hans Christian Andersen (1805-1875) is one of Denmark's most famous authors and one of the world's most widely read fairytale poets. His fairy tales combine fantasy, humor and seriousness and often contain deep thoughts about the conditions of human life. In addition to fairy tales, he also wrote novels, poems, plays and travel books. In this lecture, Inger Nygaard Kaad from Randers Library will tell the exciting story of the poor boy from Odense who worked his way through talent and determination to a life as an internationally recognized author. The lecture will tell the story of Hans Christian Andersen's life from cradle to grave. Library musician Peter Elmelund has brought his guitar and is responsible for the lecture's community songs with lyrics by HC Andersen. Both the well-known ones, but also lesser-known ones, as well as a completely newly written melody to one of Andersen's lesser-known poems.
