The ticket includes 8-10 small versions of the participating restaurants' herring dishes and the opportunity to enjoy the Bjesk of the Year at Hirtshals Fishing Festival and the North Sea Oceanarium are once again hosting the Herring of the Year open sandwich competition, where the participating restaurants must produce the most unique piece of open sandwiches with marinated herring based on old-fashioned matured herring."Herring of the Year" is a tribute to herring as a unique food and thus a tribute to nature, the sea and Hirtshals, and in this way "Herring of the Year" is characterized by being the herring and the event that both maintains the tradition of the old-fashioned maturedherring and always looking for opportunities to innovate with new flavors.
