Mushroom hunting with a knowledgeable mushroom guide

What to know

Come along on a fresh autumn walk in the forest and pick edible mushrooms Haveselskabet Aabenraa invites you again this year to a cozy mushroom trip in Årtoft plantation. You can find mushrooms all year round, but after a long period of rain the chances are particularly good, which is why we choose to go in the autumn. We meet on Jagtvej in the open space opposite the wood chip warehouse (see sketch) and we begin with a short intro by diploma mushroom guide Helle Samsø. After that we walk or drive a little further up Jagtvej to the picking area, and then it's about spotting the best and finest mushrooms and getting them in the basket. We will return to the parking lot at an agreed time, and it will be exciting to see how much of the baskets' contents will escape the guide's sharp eye. Helle goes through each basket and the yield may shrink somewhat, but now we can safely prepare a delicious dish from the mushrooms. Bring a small knife and a basket and be dressed comfortably.
