KE Løgstrup is Denmark's greatest theological and philosophical thinker since Søren Kierkegaard. KE Løgstrup (1905-81) is Denmark's greatest theological and philosophical thinker since Søren Kierkegaard. What drove his thinking was a desire to understand humans and our lives together: Where does the destructiveness we all know (but which Løgstrup had witnessed at close range through two world wars) come from? And why do phenomena such as trust, love and mercy still thrive in the world, even in the most unfavorable environments? These are the big questions that characterize Løgstrup's writing, and he goes all the way around in his attempt to find the answers.
