Hillerød Library, in collaboration with the Nordic Association, welcomes you to the Nordic Reading Circle: An open series of events that focuses on the great Nordic authors. This time we delve into the diverse universe of the Finnish-Swedish writer Tove Jansson. Poetic books about existence Tove Jansson is internationally known for the Moomins, but her writing extends far beyond children's literature. While she has previously been primarily considered a children's book author, a number of reissues in recent years have shed light on a string of literary masterpieces in her writing. Here we find, among other things, the novels The Summer Book and The Honest Cheater and short story collections such as The Sculptor's Daughter. With her precise and poetic language, Tove Jansson's stories contain great existential depth and revolve around themes such as freedom, loneliness and being human.
