Copperplate printing is a classic graphic technique that involves creating motifs on copper plates, which are then printed on paper Our goal is to give you a solid foundation for working with line etching, hard and soft ground.Participants will be introduced to the key processes within copperplate printing, including:Plate processing:Learn how to prepare and handle copper plates. We'll go over how to polish and protect the plates before etching.Chemistry and Etching:Understand the chemical processes involved in etching. We work with different etching fluids and learn how to control the depth of etching.Printing presses:Become familiar with using the printing press.
