What to know

I have previously been placed in institutions and have therefore lived large parts of my life in institutions and with rootlessness and loneliness as a faithful companion. My mother was mentally ill and as a child, it was as if I had to pay for her illness rather than receive the care and love she was unable to give. What am I talking about? On my tour, I want to tell you about my experiences of being a child of the system; of being moved from orphanage to orphanage and never really belonging anywhere. With the system as my primary caregiver, there haven't been many positive expectations or loving nudges to help me fulfill my dreams. It has always been a big dream of mine to get an education, but with the label "placed" comes limited ideas about what one is capable of, and unfortunately I never had the opportunity to get an education.
