Come and join us as we celebrate the volunteers who make a difference in Gentofte and present the 2026 Volunteer Award. Volunteer Center & Self-Help Gentofte pays tribute to those who make things happen on the occasion of Volunteer Friday - Denmark's celebration day for volunteering. In Gentofte we gather every year to celebrate the many volunteers who make a difference for others and contribute to a strong and vibrant local community. On Volunteer Friday, we celebrate the people who create communities, help others, and engage in associations, activities, and social initiatives. It's the day we say thank you to those who make things happen. In 2026, Volunteer Friday will be held in the Town Hall Hall at Gentofte Town Hall due to the renovation of Byens Hus. Volunteers, associations, partners and citizens will gather here for a festive afternoon of community, recognition and celebration of volunteering. The award for Volunteer of the Year 2026 will also be presented on the day.
