Britta and Steen Kjeldsen show you around the farm and among 1500 vines In 2008, Britta and Steen Kjeldsen started testing wine growing around Skjern on borrowed land. After a few years, they bought Stenager in Hanning east of Kongsholm Station and established the winery. The Spotted Horse. Along the way, their passionate approach to viticulture has earned them several awards at the Danish Wine Show for their sparkling wines. Gradually, production has expanded to include 1,500 vines in Hanning and 700 on borrowed fields east of Skjern. The soil east of Skjern is very sandy, while in Hanning it is a mixture of sand, clay and stone. This allows for different types of wine depending on the growing conditions. Wine is produced and sown on apples that surround the wine in Hanning. Come and experience what a strong passion can lead to.
