My life has been about survival from the start. Both of my parents had addictions and that's why I was placed, first in an orphanage and later in a foster family. I have searched for my longing for love and recognition my whole life. As a teenager, my body became a tool for gaining recognition. What am I talking about? I grew up with parents who were caught up in abuse. The failures in my life already began there - and they followed me on as a child of the system, where diagnoses and a feeling of being left out left the first scars on my soul. Trauma doesn't go away on its own if it's not addressed. Mine grew bigger, repeated itself, and became new ones. Violence, abuse, and a constant confusion about who I was shaped my youth. Later, abuse, prostitution, and homelessness became part of my everyday life - not as free choices, but as desperate ways to survive when old wounds kept reopening.
