What to know

When sleep doesn't come on its own Sleep is crucial for our well-being and energy - but for many, the nights are marked by restlessness, thoughts, a shifted circadian rhythm or the feeling of never really being rested. Sleep problems can affect anyone, but they often become particularly evident during periods of stress, worry or psychological distress. Specialist psychologist in psychiatry Henny Dyrberg, Psychiatry House and Aarhus University Hospital, and clinical nursing specialist and researcher Sanne Toft Kristiansen, Aarhus University Hospital, delves into why sleep can be so vulnerable when you are having a hard time, what role sleep plays in our health and mental well-being, and what you can do when sleep doesn't just come by itself. Based on research and clinical experience, we will discuss circadian rhythms, non-medical treatment options and the use of ball pillows for insomnia. Hear how targeted help with sleep can create more peace, better recovery and greater quality of life in everyday life.
