Seal safari (self-drive)

What to know

From Mandø dike we walk approx. 2 km along the dike and across the seabed to the seal bank, where "Jørgens Lo" - a water channel about 300 meters wide - separates us from the seals' sandbank. The seal bank is one of the largest breeding banks in the Wadden Sea National Park There are typically around 200 seals resting here. The nature guide brings telescopes so we can get "up close" to the seals without disturbing their natural behavior. The most curious of the seals may come close, in the water right in front of us. All participants must be able to walk at least 5 km effortlessly.
