Lecture by David Nicolas Hopmann on how power in Denmark has changed and what it means for our democracy How has power in Denmark changed, and what does it mean for our democracy? Since the first Power Survey around the turn of the millennium, Danish politics has become faster, more complex and more closely intertwined with media and digital platforms. But who actually has power today, and how is it exercised? Professor David Nicolas Hopmann from the University of Southern Denmark provides an insight into the large research project Power Inquiry 2.0, which examines the state of democratic rule in an era characterized by technological development, new media and changed political processes. Based on the latest research, he focuses on how democracy develops and what it means for citizens, politicians and the public. Along the way, he also puts the situation of the Danish minority in Southern Schleswig into perspective.
